I Heart Faces Week 21 Happy Birthday

This week's theme was SUPER hard for me! I think because I am always running around doing mom stuff at the birthday parties, I never seem to have any good pictures when it is all over! I seriously looked through all of our birthday pictures and this the best I could find! I don't even have good pictures of the boys with their birthday cakes! How sad is that!?!

Go check out the I Heart Faces blog for more SUPER cute birthday faces!

Not Me! Monday: Anniversary Edition

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

*
Today is NOT my 7th wedding anniversary! I can NOT believe it has really been 7 seven years.

I did NOT forget to take a picture before we left to go to dinner, and I also did NOT take my camera with me. I would never forget to document a special occasion....especially now that I have a nice camera to take pictures with.

Jason and I did NOT celebrate our anniversary by going out to dinner here. We did NOT spend an outrageous amount of money just a little extra on dinner to make it special. It was SO NOT worth it to eat dinner in a restaurant with no kid menus, booster seats, crayons, or actual screaming kids!

We did NOT eat salad, steak, baked potatoes, and broccoli! And it was NOT SUPER yummy! We also did NOT share an awesome dessert of Chocolate Mouse Cheesecake with a cute little sparkler on top to make it special!

After dinner, we did NOT turn into complete lame-o's and go to Micheal's and Target! We are way more interesting than that! We would never spend our anniversary {well not really, because it is actually today} shopping for VBS stuff and shorts for the boys!

I did NOT get a beautiful china cabinet for my anniversary gift. We did NOT buy it at the "outlet" furniture story for less than half the price of the one in the real store! I did NOT finally get to take all of my nice wedding china out of the boxes and put it into my china cabinet after only 7 years!

This is NOT the only picture of our wedding that I have on the computer.

I am NOT just posting it because I am too lazy busy to figure out how the scanner works. I am NOT considering asking Jason to help me with the scanner so I can post some more old pictures of us later today!

I am NOT going to spend my anniversary at Vacation Bible School running after a bunch of screaming preschoolers all day!

Oh So SUPER Average Food!

A typical lunch at our house. Henry's Lunch.

5 chicken nuggets...the boy can eat.

A handful of baby carrots.

A few potato chips.

Strawberry applesauce.

& ketchup.

Grant's Lunch.

The same as Henry's...minus two chicken nuggets and a couple of baby carrots.

Eli's Lunch.

Organic Applesauce...He has been eating my homemade baby food, but my applesauce didn't turn out very well. So we are going with the prepackage stuff!

This is basically what the boys eat for lunch everyday....just substitute a PB&J or turkey sandwhich for the chicken nuggets and grapes for the applesauce!

It's not fancy food, but it keeps them happy and fed! I am just glad I can get a few fruits and veggies into them without too much of a fight!

Deep Thoughts

Life is strange sometimes.

Do you ever wonder if everything {and I mean everything} in your life happens for a reason?Even down to the tiniest thing that you do or say. I don't know if I believe in coincedince...fate...or some other word to describe things in life happening for a set purpose. But I get a little excited when things DO seem like they have a purpose in my life! Do you ever feel like "WOW! That happened for a reason...and it could change my life."? Is it our own mind making things fit into our lives the way we want it too? Or is it God, confirming what we already had thought was right for our lives?

Are you confused and/or curious yet?

Let me explain a little....as best I can anyway!

I have always seen myself with four kids. It looked like we were on our way there too. Especially since Jason and I had talked about trying for another baby, oh probably right about now! But things changed when I got sick...and I am left wondering if this is all in God's plan {actually I don't think God is surprised by this, and I KNOW it is in God's plan...I just don't know how it all fits together just yet}.

In the past, Jason and I had talked about adoption...mainly because I desperately really want a little girl and his family has a very strong history of only having males. But, it never really felt right to adopt when we could have our own healthy children...even though adoption has been on my heart and in my mind for a while now. It just didn't seem like the right time...or the right circumstance. Now that having another baby is basically out of the question...adoption seems more and more like it is being put in our lives for a reason. Like it is finally time. God's plan is playing itself out. All these things over the past few months have happened for a reason.

It's not like we have even started the process or really done anything besides just talk about it. But I feel like "the signs are there", maybe not all of them, but some at least! Which leads me back to what I was saying about the tiniest things in life having a purpose.

There is an elderly lady in our church that I made fast friends with a few years ago. Since I have been sick, she has called to check on me and prayed with me over the phone a few times. But she has really been wanting to come for a visit. Well she called this week while we were gone to town, so I called back and she and her husband came over for a little while. During her visit we were talking about the boys and I said something about always wanting four kids but that we probably wouldn't be able to have anymore. She said she had always wanted four also, but she had to settled for two...because she had ADOPTED both of her children!

I don't know why we talked about this. I have known her for more than two years and we have never discussed it before. But just the mention of it gave me chill bumps. Like she had come for a visit {and I almost put off returning her call} and just happened to mentioned that her kids were adopted because that is what God wanted to happen! Coincidence.....fate....whatever you call it, it gave me some major chill bumps...and a little bit of peace about all the feeling that have been floating around in my head and my heart!

I know it will probably be awhile before we actually put things into motion {or maybe not...God may have different plans}, but just that tiny little conversation...something that most people wouldn't think twice about...seems to have the potential to really change my life!

I Heart Faces Week 20 Silhouettes

This is a picture of Grant fishing that I took last year while we were at our family reunion. Every year we spend the weekend at a state park and the boys get to run around in the woods and go fishing {their favorite!}. They have fished off this pier for the past three years, and will probably go fishing there for many more years to come!
Go check out the I Heart Faces blog for more SUPER Silhouette pictures!
