5 chicken nuggets...the boy can eat.
A handful of baby carrots.
A few potato chips.
Strawberry applesauce.
& ketchup.
Grant's Lunch.
The same as Henry's...minus two chicken nuggets and a couple of baby carrots.
Eli's Lunch.
Organic Applesauce...He has been eating my homemade baby food, but my applesauce didn't turn out very well. So we are going with the prepackage stuff!
This is basically what the boys eat for lunch everyday....just substitute a PB&J or turkey sandwhich for the chicken nuggets and grapes for the applesauce!
It's not fancy food, but it keeps them happy and fed! I am just glad I can get a few fruits and veggies into them without too much of a fight!
looks like a good lunch to me!
ReplyDeleteboy that looks familiar. :)
ReplyDeletedo you know how refreshing it is to see someone else feed their kids chicken nuggets or sandwhiches for lunch!?! very. that's what the kiddos have a lot here too. or hot dogs. or corn dogs. i love seeing that you do it too!! :0)
ReplyDeleteOh I do chicken nuggets here also. Whenever I make her the "good" stuff she doesn't eat it!
ReplyDeleteLooks like lunch around here too!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving Eli's tongue sticking out in the background of the applesauce picture. So cute!
I can't get the fruits and veggies into my kids, so the chicken nuggets is about all that is on my kid's plates.
ReplyDeleteIf you are having trouble getting your kids to eat fruits and veggies try making them a smoothie every morning. All you need to do is mix in a blender fresh or frozen fruit, plain low fat yogurt (organic is best), and milk. If you want you can add a spinach leaf to it or flax seed meal or another dark leafy vegetable for extra nutrients.
ReplyDeleteI try to serve my kids healthy foods at every meal. We avoid hot dogs and other nitrite containing meats. Chicken nuggets are okay to serve every once in a while but not on a regular basis. Instead try fresh fruit, a salad, hummus on whole wheat crackers (a favorite of my kids). If you are looking for a healthy protein boil some farm fresh organic eggs. My kids love hard boiled eggs. They also enjoy the occasional sandwich on whole grain bread (usually home made) with all natural sugar free fruit preserves and natural peanut butter or almond butter.
yummy yummy! That was our dinner last night! I love Eli's face in the background, "Mom, bring it back, I'm not finished!"
ReplyDeleteHave you been stopping by my house???
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly what Josiah eats! And we are still trying to find other ways to jazz-it-up.
It is so hard to get my toddler to eat, so I often resort to finger foods like veggie nuggets and carrots. I can't believe my son isn't bored with the lack of variety.
ReplyDeleteI also made homemade organic applesauce last fall, and it came out ok. Stupid me didn't peel the apples, just pureed them skins and all for the extra fiber. It doesn't look that appetizing, but it tastes good.
Looks like you've got all the food groups covered!! :)
ReplyDeleteMy kids love nuggets too!
I'm glad there's another mom who can't get her kids to eat all the healthy stuff I keep seeing on other blogs!! Makes me feel a little inadequate, you know? Mine usually eat chicken strips (all white meat)or pb&j and fruit, sometimes adding yogurt. The fruit is whatever we have fresh-grapes, apples, oranges, or, like today, blackberries(picked from our own yard!) Their most favorite is when we have waffles with fresh strawberries and yogurt! When we are out of fresh fruit, I give them unsweetened canned fruit, but that doesn't happen very often. I'm just happy to be getting SOMETHING healthy into them when I can!

Ok, crackin up at myself...that comment from Sydney was actually from me! I didn't realize that she logged in this morning and I never logged myself in!! Funny!

Completely off topic, Can you tell me how you did your "Grab my button" on your sidebar? I have a button, I just don't know how you did the html scroll underneath it. Thanks in advance!

I gave you an award, check it out at my blog!
ReplyDeleteYou have a delightful blog!
ReplyDeleteAh, a typical gourmet meal around here! Emily eats much better than Alex. She's more of a PB&J and Alex is strictly hot dogs! She will eat all the fruits and likes carrots...Alex, not so much...the only veggie he eats is corn. Better than nothing!
ReplyDeleteSounds like my house.
ReplyDeleteLooks quite yummy! I'm going to attempt making ketchup this weekend, wish me luck :)

We are all about the Chicken Nuggets and Ketchup over here. Corbs has ketchup on nearly EVERYTHING and I can't keep B out of Corban's chikey nuggeys so he gets some, too, sans ketchup.
ReplyDeleteSounds about right! ;)
