Other than working on that one school project, I have been in a terrible craft rut for the past few weeks. I think the crazy-busy summer that we had is finally catching up to me! I have a feeling I am going to be napping with Eli everyday this week:) It also doesn't help that I still have a major craft fail sitting on my dining room table mocking me every time I walk by it. I hate when I have such huge expectations for a project and then it fails miserable...especially because this was supposed to be a gift for someone. I guess I will just start over from the beginning and hope it works better the second time:)
We made homemade grape jelly about two weeks ago. I took some great pictures of the boys picking the grapes, and I have some pretty good shots of the yummy jelly when we got finished. I just don't have the motivation to get them loaded and put into a post....maybe one day this week I will!
Clutter drives me crazy! I hate it! And it seems to be everywhere in my life right now.
*The dining room is a mess thanks to my craft fail.
*The kitchen is a wreck thanks to the pile of dirty dishes that I so don't want to load into the dishwasher.
*The laundry room is a wreck thanks to three loads of laundry that really need to be folded.
*My purse is a wreck thanks to the millions of receipts, coupons, and toys that manage to make their way into my purse but never find their way out!
I signed Eli up for gymnastics...he started yesterday. He had a fun time and got SUPER sweaty exploring the whole gym the first day. I might share a picture or two tomorrow if I managed to get any that weren't a blur of sweaty little boy running all over the place:)
I haven't been a very good bloggy friend lately, but I'm hoping that I can get back into the swing of thing this week. Hopefully I will be able to respond to a few emails and hop over to visit after I take care of all my clutter and get a nap:)
Wow school starts early for you. My kids still have a week and a half of summer freedom. I am hoping that once they go back, I will get into a better cleaning routine...my house looks like what you described:-) LOL!
ReplyDeleteCraft fails are my specialty. Actually, they *used* to be my specialty. I've basically given up. LOL
ReplyDeleteYou must share pics of Eli at his gymnastics class!!
Aw, don't worry about it Kelli! The last thing you need is to make blogging stressful. Take this week to recuperate and get things in order. Then all your motivation will return. :)
ReplyDeleteit's just a busy time right now...collect yourself and you'll be back to your old self in no time :)
ReplyDeletecrazy to think that school started already. i think you should start crafting with eli. :) our local gym closed..the girls loved gym class. i wish the other one wasn't an hour away!!
ReplyDeleteYou sound like me! There are things everywhere at my house and having VBS last week, while fun, didn't help. You will get things in order, just tackle one thing at a time and try not to stress. Things will start slowing down soon. And I say pack lunches at night!
ReplyDeleteI think it must be that time of year. I just posted something about being tired, lacking patience and motivation. The end of summer rut, moms are tired, kids are worn out, our houses need attention....and no one has any energy left. I hope you get back in the swing of things soon.
ReplyDeleteCraft fails really are murder for inspiration, motivation, and momentum. What do you do with yours? I've started bringing them to the thrift store immediately (if it is something someone else would want).
ReplyDeleteLife has been a blur over here too. It has been crazy and I am in some kind of a funk. I hope to snap out soon. I have been a bad blogging friend too.
ReplyDeleteYou are not a bad blogging friend I was just stating that I was not being one myself. :) I hate when I type things wrong
ReplyDeleteI think we all have those times where we just need a little break, bloggy or otherwise. :) I have had my fair share of craft fails!!! Take a deep breath and then take that nap. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's just amazing how fast this summer went...unbelieveable! Your boys looks adorable in thier uniforms.
ReplyDeleteI understand too the feeling of this summer catching up to you...I literally laid over on the couch this afternoon and crashed. I have never done that before. Hope things slow down just a bit for you now.
I'm sorry about your craft fail...booo! I hate it when I'm super excited about something and I mess it up really bad. Ugghh!
ReplyDeleteI'm signing Hayden up for gym class too, I hope he likes it :)
I've been a bad blog friend too. I don't know, I just can't get in to anything lately. I was putting together Sierra's birthday invitations today and I almost started crying. I just "didn't want to". Hope you get some good nappin' in. That sounds heavenly.
ReplyDeleteclutter is my worst enemy!!! today i wanted to just start throwing things out. hubby isn't particularly fond of me when i do that! ha! i can imagine that you must be so busy with school in full swing! hope you can get to crafting again soon!
ReplyDeleteI hate clutter and recently it's everywhere as well. It's driving me nuts, but I have no ambition to clear it up. Oh well. We are looking forward to getting Zoe started with dance but I think we missed sign ups:( Can't wait to see photos.
ReplyDeleteDon't even apologize because I missed a couple of days of blogging too! Life just gets busy, and blogging has to be put on the backburner!!
ReplyDeleteAww..I wanna see his gym pics!! How cute!
Give yourself a break school just started & all routines change. I'm sure everything will settle into place really soon. Maybe you will even get that nap too... ahhhh I'm so hoping for you that you do (because secretly I totally want one too). Yay for gymnastics, how fun is that! My girls start ballet in a month. This will be my oldests 3rd year & my middle's first. Sooo exciting!
ReplyDeleteBless your heart! We start school on Monday and I am SO not ready for that schedule again!
ReplyDeleteI can not believe they already have a project and have just started school - ugh not ready for homework again either. See I told you - I'm just not ready :)
Hope you can catch some rest soon!!!!
I hear ya sista :) haha! Clutter is my middle name! I'm really hoping to keep it somewhat under control once the kids get back to school...but know it will all come back once the baby's here...that's just life I guess :) If I didn't have it, that means I wouldn't have these wonderful kids in my life!
ReplyDeleteSummer's all about being busy and I hope you enjoy those naps...I'd be right there with you! Take it easy!
