We started the afternoon with hot dogs on the grill. It was SO hot outside that we decided not to build a campfire, so we just made our dinner and dessert on the grill instead. Jason cooked some hot dogs and sausage for us and we had a nice dinner outside on the patio.
After dinner, we made S'mores! The boys used some wooden shishkabob sticks and held their marshmallows over the grill. Not quite as good as a campfire...but it worked good enough to make a few ooey-gooey S'mores!
Jason helped Henry and Grant set up their tent in the playroom and they got out their sleeping bags and pillows! They had a great time camping....{even if it only lasted until 10 pm because they still weren't asleep when Jason and I were ready to go to bed}!

Camping is always fun, even if you have to improvise sometimes. Great idea to set up the tent inside because it is tooooo hot to camp outside. Great memories are made by little things like that!

ReplyDeleteoh and the smores look good but can't be as good as the ice cream we got last night...i even dreamed about that stuff!! lol

We've done that and the boys always love it. Such an adventure for them. I dread the days when the adventure has to become more daring and exciting then when a tent in the playroom "Is the greatest thing EVER!"

What a fun idea!!!! I love the look on Eli's face...he seems a little miffed about something...maybe he's bummed he didn't get a hotdog! lol
ReplyDeleteThat is so fun! We did that in our sunroom one year, but the kids ended up sleeping outside of the tent because they claimed it was too hot in the tent! But we can't wait to camp out again in our backyard! That looked so fun! Cute pictures! Have a wonderful weekend!

ReplyDeleteMmm...S'mores! Doesn't matter where they are made, they are always yummy. The camping looks like a lot of fun. I remember my parents doing that for me.
