Back to Reality

We are back to real life today after a LONG two weeks! Back to reality around here means:
*Woke up had to drag myself out of bed at 6:30*
*Dropped Henry and Grant off at school*
*Jason left for work{late}*
*Eli and I headed to the walking track*
*Correctly portioned way too small bowl of Special K for breakfast*
*A couple hours of cleaning and laundry in my future*
*Forcing myself to eat healthy and somehow avoid the tons of leftover Christmas candy*

I have been such a bad blogger lately. Not only have I not posted anything or commented on my favorite blogs, but I also haven't done anything blog worthy either!! That means it may be a while before you see anything good posted here:) My craft dining room has been stuck in a time warp since a few days before Christmas aka there is still glitter everywhere and except for attempting to use my new ruffler that I got for Christmas nothing has moved for at least a week! What's even worse than not crafting, is that I also haven't taken ANY pictures! I think the one and only picture I have taken since Christmas morning was taken with my cell phone!

Jason and I went to Jacksonville, Florida to see the Mississippi State Bulldogs play in the Gator Bowl last weekend. It was a great trip made even better by the fact that State beat STOMPED Michigan 52-14! It was good for us that State won, because we were almost completely surrounded by Michigan fans....we were the only State fans on our whole row and we were really close to the Michigan band:) It was a quick trip, but fun! I did the math on the way home, and we were gone for about 37 hours and 14 of that was spent driving!

Do you make resolutions?!? I don't really...I think I just start out the year telling myself that I want to be better. Better at everything...diet, exercise, prayer, family, cleaning, blogging. It usually works for the first few months of the year, and then I get lazy and give up:) I actually managed to lose 10 pounds during the first 6 weeks of 2010, and then a little more during the summer. BUT the "evil trinity of diet-busting holidays" {Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas} hit and weight loss turned into weight gain. I'm making a few new goals this year and hopefully they will last longer than last year:)

I linked up one of my craft projects at Sew Dang Cute with the hopes of getting to participate in Crafting with the Stars:) Sounds like fun huh?!? Plus it would be great motivation to be more crafty this year! Go over and check out all the great projects and don't forget to click on my Recycled Frame Wreath {# 98} that I linked up:)

Eli is watching his most favorite cartoon ever {Diego}, so I need to go take advantage of this little bit of time and get busy cleaning and maybe a little crafting and picture taking too:)

  1. We go back to normal completely on Thursday and I am not looking forward to it. :( I have really enjoyed sleeping in until 10 and eating dinner way too late. However life goes on. Going to work and school just doesn't sound appealing to myself or the kids at the moment. I have got to get them in bed early tonight so that they'll get up earlier in the morning. And as far as resolutions go, I always make the normal, lose weight one, and like you I lose about 10 pounds within a few weeks, then mine is out the window! However this year I hope that I can stick to everything.

  2. Reality has bitten us in the bum here too. My boys had a hard day yesterday. Hopefully today is better. :) Congratulations to the Bulldogs for beating the Wolverines! Their defense stunk this year so it didn't take much to beat them but I'm still loyal to MI! GO BLUE! :)

  5. Welcome back! I took a long break myself.

Yeah, U of M did terrible in that game! I'm sure Miss State fans were ecstatic over the win.

  6. It's back to reality here too. It's good and bad at the same time. SO quiet in the house today. :-( Looking forward to all your upcoming craftiness.

  8. It IS hard to get back into the swing of things. :s I'm having a hard time just getting all of the gifts put away and organized. :s

I think bloggers beat themselves up too much (I know I do) about not having projects posted often enough. It is sooo hard to not compare yourself to everyone else out there. I'm learning to do what I can and hope that my readers can at least accept my good humor. ;)

  9. I'm with ya there on the "reality" thing! We all went back today, and it wasn't as bad as I made it out to be (in my mind). I'm just glad to be up and out of the house because all I've been doing these last two weeks is eating!

  10. Sigh...back to reality. It's been a slow start for us over here. Sounds like a really fun game...so glad Michigan went down. Watching the Bucks right now and hoping for a win. You are absolutely a crafting star...good luck!

  12. Ugh I can't get back in the normal routine for anything right now! My older boys went back to school on Monday and with the two little ones here and still in bed I find myself falling asleep on the couch as soon as they walk out the door. I've gotta get the motivation back and soon!

  13. I haven't been a good blogger either...but I've noticed that about many blogs...I think it's just that time of year :) We get so busy...and I sure miss taking pics! I have so many in my mind that I want to do...but no time, no willing participants, and just too tired. I need to lose some weight, but me and Elizabeth stay up late {not voluntarily on my part!} so I eat snacks and junk :( Oh well... just trying to enjoy my time with her!

Take care...and you always have fun blog posts :)

  14. Your blog cracks me up!! You're ME (or I am you!) I felt the exact same way when my kids went back to school. I wanted another week just to stay in my pj's. Thanks for stopping by my blog. Let me know how the rock candy turns out!
