This tube of vinyl came in the mail a few weeks ago. Last week, I finally got my cricut out and tried cutting some vinyl.
It was SUPER easy to do!
I made this K for my car with outdoor vinyl.
And I made this {SUPER} cute number 6 for my candle holder that was in desperate need of a makeover.
There are so many other crafty vinyl ideas floating around in my head and waiting to be discovered on the internet.

I think I just opened up a 'big can of craftiness worms'!
What kind of crafts do you like to do with vinyl?

Did you have to use a different blade to cut the vinyl? I have a cricut but I haven't braved vinyl yet.
ReplyDeleteI love the K on your car...adorable. I haven't tried vinyl on the Cricut yet...Do you need a different blade?
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're having fun! I don't, uh, craft. I was born without that gene. :-) But I enjoy looking at YOUR crafts! LOL
ReplyDeleteCool! I got a silhouette a few weeks ago. I have vinyl, but not the transfer tape. When it comes in I can't wait to get going. Love the car monogram! =)
ReplyDeleteFor Christmas this year, we took title leftover from our kitchen and put cute sayings on them. We finally got a little stand and we were done. I think we had about $5 invested in a super cute Christmas gifts. We have also made both the ladybugs, dragonflies and butterflies for Lila's room out of vinyl.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a ball with the vinyl, you are right the options are endless.
Have a great day!
That is awesome! I have not ever tried one of those machines. They seem pretty amazing!
ReplyDeleteOoooo...really cute! I've never tried vinyl or even thought about it! I love the six...you are so crafty! Can't wait to see what else you have up your sleeve!
ReplyDeleteVery cool!! The coolest thing I ever saw was someone who made a personalized cookie jar for a shower gift for someone by putting a saying on it using vinyl. It was so neat!!
ReplyDeleteLove that. My friend Jen does some great things with Vinyl and her cricut. You don't need any help with ideas...you are the queen of ideas. For real. I learn from you:)
ReplyDeletelove the K and I am SOOOO lusting after the Cricut now...I drooled on it at Hobby Lobby Saturday :)
ReplyDeleteI can't say that I have done any crafts with vinyl, but I will say that I can't wait to see what you and your worms come up with. ;-)
ReplyDeleteoh now I want a circut!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I haven't tried vinyl, but now I think I'm going to have too!
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!
ReplyDeletei love using vinyl to make signs for people. i buy signs at hobby lobby, spray paint over the design, and then use vinyl to make the sign. they make great baby and wedding gifts.
i've also bought a ton of plates to vinyl on.
can't wait to see what you do!
I haven't used the transfer tape with the vinyl- I could see how with bigger designs, phrases, and such it would be helpful, but for what I've done with it, I didn't find it necessary. I didn't need a different blade with it- it's thin, not like chipboard. The directions that came with my vinyl from Oh My Vinyl say to use low pressure to cut it- it needs just enough pressure to cut through the vinyl and not the paper backing. "Use setting #2 on the original Cricut. Use low pressure on the Create and Expressions machines. Make sure the paper saver mode is off. If your machine allows you to create a text box around the words then use this setting." There are so many fun ways to use vinyl- a friend of mine has used it on mirrors and signs primarily, but another friend is using it on her girls' bedroom walls...
ReplyDeleteawww... the beloved cricut!!! i borrowed one from a friend once and fell head over heels. one day i will own one! the vinyl is awesome... can't wait to see everything you make!
ReplyDeleteso neat! i bet you can do all sorts of wonders with that!!
ReplyDeletep.s. I have a new silver earring giveaway I think you might like! www.wild-and-precious.com
You're too cute! I can't wait to see all that you use the vinyl for!!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't gifted with the crafting gene but I love seeing other people's finished products. :D
ReplyDeleteI would have NEVER thought to do either of those... I am just without the crafty gift.
ReplyDeleteDo you have the smaller Cricut that cuts the 6x12 paper? That's what I have (older version), but I haven't tried cutting vinyl with it yet. Did you use the Cricut brand vinyl?
ReplyDeleteI love decorating with vinyl decals! I always suggest it to my friends and family who live in apartments that they cannot paint. They can really add interest to a room... never tried cutting them myself though... lol
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
I'm so jealous that you have a vinyl cutter. Have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting to my weekly link party!!!
I love the K for your car, I may have to try that. My dd loves the bumper sticker: Caution: Blonde Thinking. She can't find another so I may make her one.
ReplyDeleteI'm making plant labels for the garden using out door vinyl. (my most recentl blog post).
I have also used the vinyl as a stencil then painted my initials on a shopping bag.
Have fun. (I have a Graftec robocutter that gets data from my computer.)
