We hit the bank first and then headed over to Lowe's. I was looking for some roses to plant on our trellis {to replace the Carolina Jasmine that mysteriously died at some point last fall}. I decided on two pots of climbing roses and then headed to the check out, where Grant's {Not So} SUPER Cute Kid Question occurred.
The cashier was obviously {at least to me} a male....short hair, hat on, named Chris....but with a somewhat high pitched voice.
My ever inquisitive child asked:
"Is that a girl?"
Now, Grant said this as we were leaving the register, but he also said it loud enough that I know poor Chris heard him {along with two other customers waiting in line}. I was SUPER embarrassed, but I just kept on walking and didn't dare look back.

Oh don't you hate that?! I've gotten those a couple of times too...and the "Is she going to have a baby Mommy?" asking about someone who is obviously NOT pregnant!
lol...don't ya just love being a Mommy...awww those are the MOMENTS!
egads! What is it with Lowe's? My husband stood behind an obvious "male" with fishnet stockings and high heeled shoes while waiting in line. I'm glad he took Dominic with him! Geesh! ...And I'm glad I wasn't there.
Oh yes, I have had those akward moments with my kids too. You just want to run and hide sometimes. Poor Chris. I am reminded of the old Saturday night live skit...Pat. Too funny.
Oh yes, those moments where there's absolutely nothing you can say to make the situation better and you just want to disappear!! We have those too! Gotta love how they say exactly what they're thinking!
Oh my goodness! That is definitely a classic to include in the baby book. Don't worry, you'll get plenty of opportunities to embarrass him when he hits his teen years. Like umm... speaking to him in public, yeah.
Love your blog! And thank you for the kind comments on ours!
