Just a Little Trim
This is the earliest {he is only 10 1/2 months old} that any of my boys have had their first haircut. Henry was at least 18 months old when I finally got his curly-mess-of-hair cut, and I think Grant was at least a year old before his first trip to Mrs. Niece's. The same lady has done all three of the boys' first haircuts {and every haircut after that too}, and she does a great job!
Eli was very well behaved for his first haircut. He sat quietly in daddy's lap, and only fussed for a minute {but it was nothing the paci couldn't solve!}.

MckLinky Blog Hop: SUPER Easy Dinner Recipe
I made this recipe for the first time last week. I have made Chicken and Rice other ways, but this recipe was SUPER easy to make. I liked that I could just dump everything into my casserole dish, turn on the oven, and let it go {with a little stirring here and there}! My boys really liked it, and next time I think I may add in a few mixed veggies to really make this a one pot {or casserole} wonder! INGREDIENTS
6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves, cut into bite size pieces
2 cups milk
2 cups uncooked white rice
2 (10.75 ounce) cans condensed cream of chicken soup
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
In a medium bowl combine the milk, rice, soup and seasoned salt if desired. Mix well. Pour mixture into a lightly greased 9x13 inch baking dish. Add the chicken pieces.
Cover dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for approximately 90 minutes or until rice is done, stirring every 30 minutes. Uncover the dish and bake for another 15 minutes to allow the rice to brown.

Not Me My Child! Monday
*********
All three of my children did NOT have a blast playing on the slip n slide this weekend. They did NOT still have on their pajamas while they were playing on the before mentioned slip n slide. It was NOT approximately 3 o'clock in the afternoon. They would NEVER still be wearing their PJs that late in the day, and if they were, they would NEVER be running around in the yard and playing on the slip n slide!
One of my children {which one exactly is to blame is still a mystery, though I'm pretty sure Eli is innocent} did NOT do their business in the bathroom, only to use WAY too much toilet paper...causing the toilet to clog and overflow. The entire guest bathroom and the hallway was NOT flooded with yucky water, and it did NOT take at least an three hours before anyone discovered the mess! My children NEVER make messes, especially NOT ones that have to do with poop!
Henry and Grant do NOT think that dinner time is a race. They do NOT compete to see who can finish their food first! They do NOT eat SUPER fast so that they can announce who has finished in which place. While eating dinner this week, Henry did NOT announce that he was first, Grant was second, momma was third, and daddy was HOME! He did NOT turn dinner into such a big competition that he was using baseball terms!

Random Thoughts...
The boys and I walked out to get the mail the other day, and the sky was so gorgeous I had to run inside and grab my camera! Isn't this one of the strangest {and most beautiful} sunsets you have ever seen!
The house was quiet at the beginning of the week, because Henry and Grant went over to my mom's for a few days! It was just me and Eli hanging out, and he hasn't been feeling the best so he took some really long naps. It is so strange how lazy days seem to take forever to pass, but they also seem like they are over so fast! After spending a few days with {just} Eli, I am learning what the house is going to be like when school starts in a few weeks. I am excited and {maybe} a little worried that we are going to get bored! I'm sure once the school year gets going we will be running around like crazy doing a ton of stuff.....I guess I should be enjoying the last few lazy days of summer that we have left!
At my mom's earlier this week, the boys were playing with a hockey stick. Grant came into the kitchen and started swatting at some Cheerios that Eli had dropped. Grant said "I hocked Eli's Cheerios!" I couldn't help but laugh at him trying to make hockey a verb.....kids can be so funny sometimes!
My laundry is done for the week! WooHoo! Except I may have to do a load for the boys {well at least Henry and Grant} because they are getting low on undies...unless I just let them hang out in the bathing suit for the next two days!
We went to a children's museum yesterday with my friend Karen and her kids. The museum is about 45 minutes away, and we have never been before {so sad}! The kids {six of them counting Eli} had a great time playing and exploring all the SUPER cool exhibits! After the museum, we tempted fate and took the kids to Chuck E. Cheese! It was actually not that bad....not very crowded or too loud {the complete opposite of what CEC is usually like}! I will post some pictures from our fun trip tomorrow after I have a little time to edit them, but here is a little sneak peek at all the fun we had yesterday!
The verses from the message at church last night seemed so applicable to my life right now, that I just had to share them! I want to have the faith that Jesus provides even {and especially} in the middle of a storm!
Then he got into the boat and his disciples followed him. Without warning, a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping. The disciples went and woke him, saying, Lord, save us! We're going to drown!" He replied, "You of little faith, why are you so afraid?" Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves and it was completely calm. The men were amazed and asked, "What kind of man is this? Even the winds and the waves obey him!" Matthew 8:23-27.
**********
We are heading back to the Splash Pad this morning for a SUPER fun play date and picnic with friends! I am so glad that I am feeling good, and that I am able to take the boys to all these fun places this summer!

I Heart Faces Week 27 Sports in Action
This is Henry at one of his tball games!
He was running for home....even though I think the batter had just gotten out at first and his run didn't count! He still ran all the way and probably didn't even realize he didn't 'technically' make a home run!
