The Preschool Graduate 2

Grant graduated from preschool on Tuesday night! It really seems like we just did preschool graduation for Henry....this year has flown by!

A self portrait: Grant in his cap and gown
For their program, all the kids do a "What I want to be when I grow up".
Grant was a firefighter.

He said:
I want to be a firefighter
and drive an engine red.
I'll blow the siren good and loud
and get you out of bed.
{no nap makes for an unhappy and non-smiling firefighter}

At the end of the program, all the kiddos walked on stage to receive their diplomas. Our last name starts with a W and as usual, Grant was the very last graduate:)
He did such a great job and we are SUPER proud of him!

Next year he will be all grown up, and he will go to big school with Henry.

Congrats to Jen aka Momma D for winning the CSN giveaway!

A Little Bit About Japan

Henry's class has been learning about Japan this week, and today they are having a celebration of Japanese culture, clothes, and food.
*******************
Henry wearing his kimono that he decorated with a tiger, Mt. Fuji, the Japanese flag, a samurai, and a dragon.
Henry wrote a story about all the things he had learned about Japan.And last night, I made {lots and lots of} Candy Sushi for his class.
Candy Sushi Candy Sushi How To:
Make a batch of Rice Krispy Treats
{3 tbls butter}
{10 oz bag of mini marshmallows}
{6 cups of Rice Krispies}
{Melt butter, stir in marshmallows until smooth, add Rice Krispies.}

Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray and pour the batch of Rice Krispies into the cookie sheet. Press it down until it fills the entire pan. Let cool a little. {I made two batches, that is why there are two sheets of Rice Krispies}
Candy Sushi Line gummy worms up along the long side of the Rice Krispy Treat.
Candy Sushi Then roll the Rice Krispy Treat until the gummy worms are completely covered.
Candy SushiPress and mold the Rice Krispies into a long tube and then cut along the side of the tube with a very sharp knife. I got three tubes out of each sheet of Rice Krispies.
Candy Sushi Use that same sharp knife to cut the roll into approximately 1 inch pieces. I ended up with about 10 pieces per roll for a total of 30 per batch of Rice Krispies.
Candy Sushi After the candy sushi rolls are all cut, wrap them with a green fruit roll up. I found mini fruit roll ups that were the perfect size when they were cut in half.

Soccer

We have finished up another SUPER seasons of Upward Soccer.

We {without my camera) attended the Award Celebration last night.

The boys watched a SUPER fun magician, got new Upward soccer balls for awards, and enjoyed soccer themed cupcakes!

We had a great season and a great team!

Unfortunately, because of
rain

forgetfulness

and laziness
I only got a few decent pictures of the boys playing soccer.

Henry warming up before the game.

Grant concentrating hard to kick the ball!

Eli hanging out in his stroller watching the game.
Serious soccer players!
Eli entertained himself with acorns {and snacked on a few too} while Henry and Grant played a double header!

Tooth Fairy Heaven!

First, I have to start out by telling you that loose, wiggly teeth really gross me out! Back in May when we were at the dentist, the hygienist told me that Henry was starting to get his 6 year old molars and that meant we would start to get some loose teeth soon. I got a little grossed out then, just thinking about it. But about two weeks ago, we discovered the wiggly teeth...the front two bottom ones to be exact!

Henry's SUPER wiggly tooth before it came out!

Attempt #1 to pull out the SUPER wiggly tooth.

Attempt #2 to pull out the SUPER wiggly tooth.

Both attempts failed!
On Tuesday, when I picked Henry up at school his assistant greeting me with a ziplock bag with his {gross} tooth in it. Apparently Henry pulled out his own tooth in the bathroom at school!

The next day, my mom picked up the boys and let them play at her house for a while. She gave them an apple for a snack....and surprise, surprise....after the first bite, Henry's other wiggly tooth was out of his mouth and stuck in the apple!

He was SO excited about losing his teeth, and even more excited that the tooth fairy come to our house two nights in row!

Preschool & One Year Old Checkup

Grant started preschool on Tuesday, and he is already having a great time. We really like his teacher, Ms. Tracy, and we can't wait to see what all he learns this year!

Grant ready for his first day of preschool!

After Grant's first day of preschool, we headed to town for lunch with my mom and then to Eli's one year old check up. Eli weighed 26 pounds and he was 32 inches long: both put him in the 90% for his age! Eli is a lot bigger than Henry and Grant were at their one year old check ups {Henry weighed 22 pounds and was 30 inches Grant weighed 22.5 pounds and was 31 inches}! I think Eli is going to be a big boy...his big brothers better watch out!
