I am participating in Heidi's {@Blue Eyed Blessings} Monthly Craft Challenge!
This month's challenge was MONOGRAM!

Appliques
I currently have an obsession with appliqueing! I just realized how quick and easy they are to do and how SUPER cute they always turn out! The first picture is a shirt that I made for Eli with some leftover fabric. The second picture is a bag I appliqued for my sister for her birthday! To do both projects, I simply printed out the letter on paper, spray glued it to some interfacing and then the fabric, cut out the letter, and used the zigzag setting on my sewing machine to attach the letter! SUPER simple and SUPER cute!

Wooden Letter
I picked this wooden "W" up at Kohl's for less than $15. I know you could cut out and paint your own, but this was so much easier! Okay, so I didn't really craft anything here but it is still a monogram and I think it looks really good!

Monogrammed Flower Pots I made a stencil by printing out the "W" on paper. Then I placed it under some contact paper and cut out my stencil with a craft knife. I {with Jason's help...definitely need more than two hands for this step} carefully placed the contact paper stencil onto the pot. I used a craft pen made specifically for writing on terra cotta to fill in the stencil. I peeled off the stencil and cleaned up a few edges that were rough. I think they turned out really cute...now I just have to remember to water the plants so they don't die!

Etched {well sort of} Glass Cookie Jar
As soon as Heidi announced the challenge last month, I knew I wanted to try this project! I end up procrastinating until the last minute and didn't really end up with what I had hoped for, but it turned out pretty cute anyway!

{I actually bought a different cookie jar, but I dropped it and it broke into a million pieces. I found this one the other day when I was at Walmart for a little less than what I had spent on the original and I like it better too!}

I used the tutorial that Heidi linked the other day. I printed out the letter, taped it to the inside of the jar, attached some contact paper to the outside, traced the letter and removed it, then applied my {sort of} glass etch medium. After I applied it, I realized that it said "glass etch look" and that it wasn't really etching the glass! Oh well, after two attempts it turned out looking pretty good. Now we just need some cookies to put in the jar!
