Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

*****************************

I did NOT go to the doctor this week and come home with a vial of medicine and a bag full of syringes. I do NOT feel even more like a druggie with all the new and different meds that are constantly being added to my list! When it came time to give myself said medicine with one of the {SUPER scary} syringes, I did NOT sit and hold the syringe for at least 30 minutes before I could muster the nerve to actually inject the medicine! Before that, I did NOT call my pharmacist to get more detailed instructions on how to actually use the syringe.

We did NOT go car shopping this week! I am NOT SUPER excited that I may be getting my very first NEW car in the next few weeks. We have NOT pretty much decided to go with a 2010 Honda Pilot! I am NOT really looking forward to having a car that is reliable and BRAND NEW!

On Saturday, I did NOT accidentally give Grant Henry's clothes to wear and give Henry Grant's clothes to wear! I am much more observant than that, and I would definitely notice if my children were wearing each other's clothes. It would NOT take 4 hours and Grant saying "Momma, I'm wearing Henry's shirt" for me to notice that they did in fact have on each other's shirt. The shirts that they were NOT wearing also did NOT have both of their names written across the front!

Grant {NOT} wearing Henry's shirt!

Eli is NOT officially a walker! He is NOT growing up way too fast....and walking everywhere SUPER fast too! This weekend he did NOT really enjoy his new found freedom in the backyard! I am NOT a little excited that now we can spend more time outside and I won't have to worry so much about him eating every piece of grass and dirt from the ground!

SUPER Spaghetti

Spaghetti is one of our favorite meals. The boys love it because it is yummy, and I love it because it is quick and easy to make! It is also a pretty healthy meal {lots of veggies in just a little bit of sauce}...especially when I add in a few extra things to make it SUPER Spaghetti!

Our SUPER Spaghetti has:

Extra Lean Ground Beef

Organic Ragu Spaghetti Sauce

Regular Spaghetti Noodles

{the wheat ones just don't taste as good...and the boys can tell the difference!}

and a few tablespoons of Ground Flax Seed Meal!Eli really enjoyed his first taste of SUPER spaghetti!

And he even liked it for lunch the next day too!

Crafty Way to Organize for School

I got this SUPER cute and SUPER organized idea from my blog friend Kelli...who actually got the idea from this blog!
********************
I figured with Henry starting Kindergarten and Grant starting Preschool, we are going to have a ton of school papers coming home every day! So this is my attempt to get organized and have everything in one place. First, I gathered my materials. I bought some {color-coded...Henry=blue, Grant=green, Eli=orange} folders at Walmart for 15 cents each. And I printed out each of the boys initials on some notecards that I already had.
I cut out the letters in a SUPER cute star shape.
And used my circle cutter to makes circles out of some left over cardboard.
I used double sided foam tape to attach the letters to the cardboard circles, and then I used hot glue to attach the circle to the front of the folder.
I used some SUPER cute stickers to finish writing out each of the boys' names on the folders.
Now all three boys have a SUPER cute color-coded folder {even Eli...you know just in case he has some baby work to do}!
I added some SUPER important school papers...lunch menu, newsletter, and teacher's notes!
And placed the SUPER cute and SUPER organized folders in my filing shelf in the kitchen.
I think {HOPE} this may be the beginning of a very organized school year for us!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

**********************

Last week was NOT a SUPER busy week at our house! We did NOT do a ton of different things all week, and I am NOT SUPER exhausted from all the stuff that we did NOT do!

{We did NOT go on a last minute mini-vacation to the beach. We did NOT attend Open House at Henry's new school and meet his new teacher. We did NOT take Henry to his first day of Kindergarten. We did NOT go to three birthday parties on Saturday. We did NOT have a busy Sunday at church followed by lunch, shopping, dessert and the cleaning the house! I am NOT exhausted just thinking about the week we had last week!}

While we were on our mini vacation, I did NOT eat a ton of junk food, fried food, ice cream, and treats! I always eat healthy food....especially when I am on vacation. When we got home from vacation, I did NOT continue to eat unhealthy food for the whole week. I did NOT finish off another jar of Nutella and a few various things of candy that had been sitting around the house for a while!

While we were on vacation, I did NOT let the boys take a 'break' from bathtime. I did NOT just let them going to the pool count as taking a bath for two of the three nights that we were gone!

I did NOT change a billion dirty diapers this past week. Eli was NOT on antibiotics for an ear infection...and those antibiotics did NOT give him horrible diarrhea, which means I did NOT have to change his little hiney every hour of every day for the past week! And if I did have to change that many diapers, I would NEVER complain that all my child ever seems to do is POOP!

I am NOT just a little {more} sad than I thought I would be about Henry starting Kindergarten! We have NOT been so ready for him to start school, and now I am NOT just a little worried about how well he is adjusting!

A Few of My Favorite Things {3}...

My favorite chocolate fix
Nutella

I have seriously gone through {by myself} at least 5 jars of this stuff since the beginning of June. I bought a jar of it at the beginning of summer...thinking it would be okay, but probably not anything special. OH MY! Was I wrong! This stuff is SUPER delicious...though not really the best for my {not nearly small enough} waistline! I just finished off a jar today, and I think I am going to NOT buy another jar for a while! I need to get back on WW big time...which for me means eating a ton of Special K and apples!

My favorite summer t.v. show

This is a new show that comes on Lifetime. I thought it looked interesting, so I set the DVR to record the first episode a few weeks ago. It is actually pretty good...especially considering it is a Lifetime show and I'm not really a Lifetime kind of girl! This show is helping to fill the t.v. void that the summer has left since everything {and I mean everything} that I like to watch is either in reruns or not even on the air!

My favorite piece of furniture
My china cabinet

I got this china cabinet back in June for my anniversary, but I don't think I ever posted pictures of it! I am still SUPER excited that my wedding china finally has a place {after sitting in the boxes for 7 years}! Just in case you don't remember, Jason and I got this beauty at a Rooms 2 Go Outlet store for less than $400! The only thing wrong with it was a few scratches that a furniture marker took care of easily....and the exact same cabinet was sitting in the regular store with a price tag of $999!

My favorite song
Perfect People by Natalie Grant

Never let 'em see you when you're breaking

Never let 'em see you when you fall

That's how we live and that's how we try

Tell the world you've got it all together

Never let them see what's underneath

Cover it up with a crooked smile

But it only lasts for a little while

[CHORUS:]There's no such thing as perfect people

There's no such thing as a perfect life

So come as you are, broken and scarred

Lift up your heart and be amazed

And be changed by a perfect God

Suddenly it's like a weight is lifted

When you hear the words that you are loved

He knows where you are and where you've been

And you never have to go there again

[CHORUS]

Who lived and died to give new life

To heal our imperfections

So look up and see love.

Let grace be enough

[CHORUS]

By a perfect God [5x]

Be changed by a perfect God

Be changed

Big Little Man on Campus!

Henry is officially a Kindergartner!

Jason and I took him to his new school this morning for his very first day of Kindergarten.
Henry and Hayden {Trouble and Double Trouble!}

Our school district does "Kindergarten Discovery Days" for the first three days of the school year, so today he is at school with 8 other classmates. He will not go to school tomorrow....and he will start his first 'normal' day of Kindergarten on Monday.

Henry seemed to be fine, a little nervous, but I kind of expected that from him. No tears were shed, so I think we did pretty good! We are really excited about his teacher {she has some awesome qualifications} and his new class! And I am SUPER excited that Henry already knows some the kids {at least 5 from church and preschool} and I know some of the moms {field trips are way more fun if you have someone you like to talk to}!

I'm a little nervous about pick up....only because it is new and I don't want to do something wrong. I think I can handle it though! Hopefully Henry is having a great day and will have a great Kindergarten year!
