Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This week I did NOT realize that I have accidentally been using Jason's toothbrush for the past few weeks. We did NOT both go into the bathroom to brush our teeth at the same time, and I did NOT grab what I thought was my toothbrush. Jason did NOT look at me and say...."Why are you using my toothbrush?" This did NOT continue for a while with us trying to decide who's toothbrush it actually was...it was Jason's!

I did NOT leave yet another basket of clean laundry sitting in the living room all week. I did NOT look at it a few times and think that maybe I should fold it....only to find something else to do so that I could procrastinate folding the clothes just a little bit longer. It is NOT now laundry day again...and those clothes are NOT still sitting in the basket where they started last Monday!

I did NOT lose Eli's paci while we were at the fair on Friday. I did NOT get just a little worried when I realized he had thrown it down and I had no idea where it was. I would NEVER get worried just because we had lost Eli's last paci! We did NOT retrace our steps and Grant did NOT spot it hanging on the rail by one of the rides we had stopped to watch. I was NOT SUPER relieved to have found his paci.

While we were at the fair, I did NOT decide that a funnel cake would make a great dinner for me. I did NOT make my boys eat a hot dog and some nachos {HEALTHY FOOD} before I would share my SUPER yummy funnel cake with them. I would never eat dessert for dinner while I made my kids eat {semi} real food!

Veggie Soup!

Alicia over at More Than Words shared a SUPER yummy recipe for vegetable soup the other day! I had already been craving soup because we have been having some {wonderful} fall weather, but after seeing her yummy recipe I decided I had to make a big pot of veggie soup!

This is not really a 'recipe', I just throw whatever I have at home {this is my typical list of ingredients} into the pot and call it SOUP. I'm sure you could add or take away any veggies that you like or don't like and it would still be SUPER yummy!

VEGGIE SOUP

3/4 pound of ground hamburger, browned
one can of whole kernel corn
one can of green beans
one can of whole tomatoes
one can of tomato sauce
3 or 4 potatoes peeled and cut into 1 in. cubes
handful of baby carrots
one cup of water
season with salt and pepper to taste

Add all the ingredients{before adding the whole tomatoes squish them up with your hands} into a big pot and give them a stir. Cook on medium until all the veggies {I always check the potatoes because they take the longest} are tender. Serve with crackers or some warm cornbread. YUM!

Soccer

We have finished up another SUPER seasons of Upward Soccer.

We {without my camera) attended the Award Celebration last night.

The boys watched a SUPER fun magician, got new Upward soccer balls for awards, and enjoyed soccer themed cupcakes!

We had a great season and a great team!

Unfortunately, because of
rain

forgetfulness

and laziness
I only got a few decent pictures of the boys playing soccer.

Henry warming up before the game.

Grant concentrating hard to kick the ball!

Eli hanging out in his stroller watching the game.
Serious soccer players!
Eli entertained himself with acorns {and snacked on a few too} while Henry and Grant played a double header!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This week I did NOT lose my checkbook, and then proceed to freak out a little when I realized it was missing. I did NOT accidentally drop it in a fast food restaurant while trying to carry my {huge} one year old, my purse, a bag of greasy food, and a diet soda. There is NO way that I had my hands so full {and I only had on kiddo with me}that I didn't notice my checkbook falling out of my purse. Luckily there are NOT still some honest people in the world who took my lost checkbook over to one of my bank branches across the street!

I did NOT have to steal my sisters sweater at the fall festival Friday night, because I wore a short sleeve shirt. I would never wear clothes that weren't appropriate for the season {or the changing of the seasons...since the cold front moved in Friday afternoon}!

I would NEVER let my children {all three of them} wear shorts in chilly weather just because they didn't have any pants that fit. I did NOT let them wear their SUPER cute long sleeve Halloween shirts with shorts, because that would just be silly! While at the {chilly} fall festival, Eli did NOT have snot icicles hanging from his nose!

I did NOT attempt to take a picture of the boys in their SUPER cute long sleeve Halloween shirts, only to end up with these three less than perfect pictures!

{Eli was not in the mood for pictures}

We did NOT spend most of the day Saturday at the soccer fields getting wind/sunburned. I did NOT neglect to put sunscreen on Eli, and he did NOT end up with a SUPER red face by Saturday afternoon.

Random Thoughts...and Some Funnies!

Henry had to take a pumpkin to school this week. I wasn't sure what size to get, so I asked him what size pumpkins some of the other kids had brought. I held my hands out and showed him the size of a small decorative pumpkin. He looked at my hands and said, "No, not a baby pumpkin. More like a brother pumpkin." How cute is that!?!
*************************
I had to pry whats left of this crayon out of Eli's hands and mouth this morning. Apparently red crayons are pretty tasty, because he didn't give it to me without a fight! And I'm pretty sure that this is not all of the crayon....I'm thinking he either ate it or hid it away for a snack for later?!? *************************
I have been in a little bit of a funk lately. I don't know if it's the weather or just because I don't feel good. I haven't taken any pictures {other than the one of Eli's half eaten crayon} in almost two weeks. I know....how sad is that! And it's not like we have been sitting at home either. We have been doing all kinds of stuff and I have no photographic evidence of it!
*************************
ANTS! We have ants in our house...and we don't know where they are coming from. They have been in the living room {a trail of them were going up the couch to eat all the crumbs that were hiding under the cushions} and in Eli's room. Eli has gotten up two mornings this week with ant bites on his face. Poor baby is being attacked at night I guess?!?
***************************
All three boys got haircuts yesterday. And I think I came home with at least half of what she cut stuck to my clothes because Eli decided that instead of sitting nicely in the chair, he was going to flop around like a fish out of water. FUN TIMES.
***************************
I made the boys some SUPER cute shirts for Halloween this week. I used the fabric that I posted about last week for Heidi's Monthly Craft Challenge. I have a few more things that I want to do with the fabric...I just have to find the time {and energy} to work on them! The boys are wearing their shirts to the elementary school fall festival today...so hopefully I will have some pics to share of their SUPER cute shirts.
************************
The fall weather is finally here...at least for now anyway. The lows are supposed to be in 40's this weekend and I am SO excited that it is finally starting to feel like fall instead of an endless summer of unbearable heat!
*************************
I guess that is all the randomness that I have for now. We will be fall festivaling {yeah I just made that a verb} and at the soccer fields for most of the weekend! I hope everyone has a SUPER weekend!

Vent

Do you ever just feel like venting?

Something little happens...but still bothers you....and the more you think about it the more it makes you mad.
When that happens {I assume I'm not the only one who does this!} do you vent just to make yourself feel better?!?

I do.

If I ever get upset at something that Jason has done, I know I can call my friend Mandy and say how stupid he is being...and then I feel better.

If the kids are driving me crazy, I know I can talk to Jason about it and cry on his shoulder about how bad my day has been...and then I feel better.

I probably don't mean half of what I said...but it feels better to talk out my feelings and get all that junk out of my head.
Well, I have learned a valuable lesson in the past two days.
Be careful who you vent to!

Everybody must not understand the whole venting thing and how you say a bunch of stuff but probably should have only said half of it.

Sometimes the only way to talk yourself down from a ledge is to vent.
See, now I feel better.

This has officially been my vent about venting.
What do you think....do you need to vent about something?

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I have NOT been a SUPER slacker when it comes to blogging lately. I did NOT schedule all of my post for last week on Monday, and then find myself MIA from blogland for the rest of the week! I have NOT been SUPER neglectful of all my bloggy friends this week by not reading or commenting on their posts! I am NOT SUPER sorry about that and hope that I can catch up on all my bloggy friends this week.

I did NOT learn that vomit can cover up that NEW CAR SMELL really quickly! Eli did NOT throw up all in my car this week on the way home from the grocery story. I did NOT have to pull over at a gas station, strip Eli down to his diaper, and then use an entire box of wipes to clean up his car seat and my NEW leather! It did NOT take at least 30 minutes for me to get the mess cleaned up...and my car did NOT smell really gross until Jason clean it out really good the next day!

I did NOT have a SUPER busy week, and I did NOT manage to leave my camera at home for everything that we did...which means I have ZERO pictures of our fun adventures. I did NOT miss out on taking pictures of the boys at their first drag race, the soccer game, eating BBQ at The Shed, and going to Praise in the Park. I am NOT SUPER sad that I don't have pictures of all our fun!

I was NOT just a little excited to go out of town on Wednesday last week. I was NOT gone shopping all day Thursday...which meant I did NOT have to change a single dirty diaper all day! I would NEVER be excited about going out of town just because I didn't have to change a {million} dirty diapers.

Tooth Fairy Heaven!

First, I have to start out by telling you that loose, wiggly teeth really gross me out! Back in May when we were at the dentist, the hygienist told me that Henry was starting to get his 6 year old molars and that meant we would start to get some loose teeth soon. I got a little grossed out then, just thinking about it. But about two weeks ago, we discovered the wiggly teeth...the front two bottom ones to be exact!

Henry's SUPER wiggly tooth before it came out!

Attempt #1 to pull out the SUPER wiggly tooth.

Attempt #2 to pull out the SUPER wiggly tooth.

Both attempts failed!
On Tuesday, when I picked Henry up at school his assistant greeting me with a ziplock bag with his {gross} tooth in it. Apparently Henry pulled out his own tooth in the bathroom at school!

The next day, my mom picked up the boys and let them play at her house for a while. She gave them an apple for a snack....and surprise, surprise....after the first bite, Henry's other wiggly tooth was out of his mouth and stuck in the apple!

He was SO excited about losing his teeth, and even more excited that the tooth fairy come to our house two nights in row!

Henry missing TWO teeth!

Monthly Craft Challenge: Halloween or Fall

I have been a bit of a procrastinator {shock} about working on my crafts for Heidi's Monthly Craft Challenge. It didn't help that I have been feeling cruddy the past few weeks either. But I have a few things to show off....and a few things left to work on that I will probably post about closer to Halloween!

I went Mod Podge crazy this month and made three different crafts using scrapbook paper and Mod Podge! They all turned out pretty cute, but the first one is by far my favorite:

Halloween Picture Frame

Fall Sign

BOO Sign

Fabric {for a project that I will finish eventually}!

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

I have NOT slowly stopped caring what I look like at school drop off and pick up. I did NOT start out the year wearing nice pants, hair fixed, and makeup on....and slowly stop caring what I look like all together. I am NOT now going to drop off and pick up with my 'house cleaning' clothes on, bed head, and not a drop of makeup! I would NEVER go out in public looking like I just rolled out of bed!

I did NOT wait in line for about 30 minutes at a local kids resale just to get Eli a SUPER cute smocked outfit for only $10! I would never wait in line that long just to get a great deal on some kids clothes.

I did NOT ask Jason to get my fall decorations out of the attic the weekend and then proceed to open up the containers, pick about four things out, and then pack up the rest because I just wasn't in the mood to decorate {or constantly get fake leaves out of Eli's mouth for the next two months}!

I did NOT spend the part of the weekend with sick kiddos who took really LONG nice naps! I did NOT use that long nap time to work on craft projects instead of cleaning up my house or folding the clothes in the laundry basket {which have NOT been there for going on two weeks}!
