Henry was chosen as STAR Student in his class this week!
To him it means being the line leader and wearing a special ribbon.
To me it means sending a fun star themed lunch to surprise him:)
I used my trusty cookie cutters and secretly got to work making his lunch shine!

I Love a Rainy Day...

if we don't have plans for the day...
if the lightening is not too bad...
if the wind doesn't blow away my garden flag...
if there are a few breaks in the rain...
if we can still go on the porch...
if I can take a few pictures {without my camera getting wet}...
 if the power stays on...
I love a rainy day. Do you?

Miscellany Monday

A. We had an outrageously busy weekend {Halloween party Friday night, Fall Festival at church Saturday night, and Trick or Treating Sunday night} as I'm sure most everyone else did! I am just a little exhausted from all the fun Halloween/fall activities, and I'm kind of thankful that we don't have a whole lot going on until closer to Thanksgiving.

B. Because we have been so busy, the housework had to be put on hold for a few days:) That means I have a ton of laundry piled up waiting to be folded, and a ton of other laundry that needs to be washed. Sometimes I think I would love to have a maid...but just having someone else to do the laundry would probably be enough to make me happy!

C. In all the candy and craziness that was Halloween night, I accidentally left my camera at my aunt's house. That means no cute pictures of three little knights trick or treating. I did manage to get a half way decent shot of them at the Fall Festival Saturday night though:

D. Is it just me, or is it kind of crazy that the stores already have out all of their Christmas stuff! I like Christmas, but can we at least wait until after Thanksgiving before we start plastering Santa and snowmen all over everything!

E. I don't know if I have mentioned this on my blog before or not, but we are really big Mississippi State fans at our house {that is where my hubby went to college}. Right now the Bulldogs are ranked in the top 25 and they are probably going to make it to a bowl game this year {it's been a few years since that had a good  season}.  We are so excited they are doing well this year, and we are hoping to find tickets to one of the few home games that are left. Henry and Grant have been begging to go to a game, so maybe we can work it out over the next few weeks:)

Fun New Twist on an Old Classic

I'm sure you all remember the fun ghost lollipops that we used to make as kids. They are a SUPER simply project that only require tissue paper, ribbon, and a lollipop. I loved them as a kid, but lately I've been trying to do less scary stuff and more fall type stuff for Halloween.  So when I saw this idea a few weeks ago, I knew the pumpkin version was just too cute not to make for my boys' classmates.
I started with orange tissue paper, green gingham ribbon, some small squares of contact paper,
and of course LOLLIPOPS!
I found these SUPER sized lollipops at the dollar store for $1!
The first step is to cut the tissue paper to size. Then punch a hole in the center of the contact paper square. This is to reinforce the tissue paper so that it doesn't tear. Place the contact paper square in the center of the piece of orange tissue paper.
Insert the lollipop stick through the hole in the contact paper and then through the tissue paper.
Tie them up with a piece of green ribbon, and you have a SUPER adorable and really easy party favor.

Join us Saturdays at tatertotsandjello.com for the weekend wrap up party!
