Football, That Stupid Pig, Ice Cream Sundaes, and Airstream Progress

So did you watch the big game {and the commercials} last night? I have to admit that we really aren't fans of either of the teams that played last night, but we were cheering for the Giants...mostly because the Mannings have a little bit of Mississippi history and that history trumped the fact that Tom Brady's girlfriend is a supermodel {you know, because supermodels affect the teams that people cheer for}.

Anyway, we dvr'd the game because we had church last night, so when we got home Jason got busy with the fast forward button while I fixed dinner {aka put a couple of delicious slices of Papa John's pizza on paper plates}. We normally fast forward like maniacs through dvr'd games, but this one was different because half the fun of the Super Bowl is the commercials so we couldn't skip all of them! We did skip over most of the beer commercials and ALL of the Geico commercials {Please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks that squealing pig is the most obnoxious thing on tv?!?}. We LOVED the M&M commercial, but honestly there aren't really many great ones that I remember:) Lots of celebrity cameos {Seinfeld and Leno} and two products in one commercial together {Chevy and Twinkie} which just seems kind of weird to me!

Now everybody knows that yummy food is SUPER important for proper Super Bowl viewing. We had dinner covered with pizza, so that just left dessert...and I had something really fun planned for us this year! Last week I pinned these adorable ice cream sundaes that I knew my boys would love! They're called Super Bowl Sundaes and they were created by Katrina. I recreated {aka copied} her dessert without changing much, because really they were pretty close to perfect! The one thing I did change is that I used chocolate to attach my sprinkles and I didn't pipe on my chocolate, I just kind of smeared it on with a spoon. I figured my boys would devour these before they noticed that the audience wasn't perfectly placed:) Anyway here are a few pics that I took of the process, but head over to In Katrina's Kitchen to get a great step by step and see her {not quite as sloppy as mine} version!

Other than watching football this weekend, most of our time was spent working on the Airstream and planning for our big trip. Jason has been making pretty good progress lately. The bathroom is completely put together and fully functioning. We still need to get light fixtures and figure out what we are doing for a mirror, but all the plumbing is working and there are no leaks! We ordered our flooring a few weeks ago and it should be in one day this week. I am SUPER excited to get the flooring in because I know it is going to totally change the look of everything because right now the floor is white painted plywood! I helped out yesterday by painting a shelf that Jason built in the front of the Airstream.
We had originally planned to paint the shelf white, but I remember that we bought some {almost avocado} green paint back when we bought the paint for the walls. So I made the executive decision to go with green and add some color, because up until now everything has either been gray or white {with the exception of the boys room in the back that is a pretty turquoise/blue color}.

We also sat down and mapped out our trip and decided where {and when} we are going. Using google maps, I added in all our stops from start to finish. The trip should take around 17 days and during that time we are going to drive more than 5,000 miles! That just seems a little crazy to me...but I know we are going to have such a great time and see so many amazing things! I'm planning to take a few more pictures of the progress we've made on the Airstream and share it later this week, and {if I can figure out how to do it} I am going to share the map showing all our stops along the way.

Now, I must go do laundry because this morning I was digging through a pile of clothes trying to find uniform pants for Henry...and because all of Eli's clothes are piled up in a basket in the living room and they have been there for almost two weeks...and because there is a load of mine and Jason's clothes in the dryer that has been there since last Monday. Sometimes I get lazy and leave that last load of laundry in the dryer:)

Miscellany Monday

I have a ton of pictures in my November folder that I haven't shared, so I decided to join in with Carissa this week to share them....even though they probably aren't really blog-worthy!

A.
Maybe it's kind of mean, but I think this picture of Eli is kind of hilarious! He was playing under our breakfast room table and somehow got himself stuck under one of the chairs. It's hard to tell from this picture, but his tiny little hiney is stuck under the cross bar of the chair:)

B.
I tried to get crafty earlier this month with the leaves that Eli and I gathered on our walk. It was a major craft fail! I didn't lay the leaves flat to dry out so they were kind of wrinkly and wouldn't stick to the candle well....even though I sprayed them with a generous coat of spray adhesive. My Mod Podge was almost empty and I had to scrap the bottom of the jar, and I really didn't get a full coat on them. They are currently sitting in my china cabinet and I have a feeling they are probably going in the trash can soon!
C.
I only took two pictures of the boys at their Thanksgiving lunch and they are pretty bad.
Henry the Indian                      &                   Grant the Pilgrim

D.
We had an end of the season football party for Grant's pee wee team a few Saturdays ago. I made some fun football jersey sugar cookies for the boys with their jerseys numbers on them. They were gobbled up before I could get a decent picture of them, here's a shot of Grant holding his...with a bite or two taken out of the bottom.
E.
I was craving a banana split last week when Jason was working late and I was home alone with three sleeping kiddos, but we didn't have any ice cream or chocolate syrup. So I made the next best thing: a Faux Banana Split with Nutella Drizzle:) I cut up a banana, added a big scoop of Lite Cool Whip, tossed on some peanuts, and drizzled a little bit of warmed Nutella over the top...YUM!
What kind of randomness have you been up to lately?

Miscellany Monday

1. I have been doing the Couch to 5K program for the last couple of weeks with a few of my friends. We started out barely able to jog the 90 seconds and today we jogged for 20 minutes without stopping! It is hard for me to believe that we made it this far in just 6-7 weeks. I'm not sure how far we jogged because we are slow we have been more focused on time instead of distance...but I'm thinking we did around a mile and a half today!

2. Friday is the boys' last day of school and I don't know if I'm excited or nervous! Summer means entertaining 3 SUPER energetic boys all day long! Thank goodness my mom has a pool:)

3. Eli has decided that it is fun to ride his tricycle in the house. So now every time I turn around he is dragging it in the back door to ride. I would have never let Henry or Grant ride their tricycles in the house...I think I'm slacking with the third one!

4. Today I am sharing a fun spray paint tutorial at 3 Sun Kissed Boys. Go over and check it out, leave some comment love, and also check out all the awesomeness that is Yanet's blog too!

5. The rest of my week is going to be filled with making end of the year teachers gifts and working on scrapbooks for all 27 kids in Grant's class! I am totally not a scrapbooker, so I've been putting it off for a while but now that we only have 4 more days of school I have got to get  busy. Procrastination at it's finest I guess!

6. Don't forget about the Thank You Cards Shop giveaway that ends tonight! The winners {there are two} gets to pick 10 free cards of their choice...and let me just say the choices are all SUPER cute!

Miscellany Monday

A.
Teacher Appreciation Week starts today, which means my craft room is full of fun teacher gifts that have to be glued, painted, and assembled. Today I sent a fun little bag of highlighters with THIS cute printable on it! Such a fun and easy idea! I have few more things started, but I still have a lot to make too:) Plus I have to send cookies Wednesday and Thursday! I think this may be a busy week!

B.
This weekend I got a new toy that is going to make mixing all that cookie dough a lot easier! I will share a picture with you went I get it up and running on her maiden voyage tomorrow:)

C.
We officially started using our Countdown to Summer Board today....19 days until summer!
If you haven't entered the Elmer's Craft and Tell giveaway, you still have a few more days to win some crafty goodies that you could use to make your own Countdown to Summer Board!
D.
We finally got all the boys' Easter candy put away last night. Seriously there was just so much stuff that it was daunting....so I let it sit on the kitchen counter for over a week! Sad I know, but I told Jason he had to help me clean it up because if he didn't I would want to eat all of it:) Easter candy is evil...and clearance Easter candy is even worse!
E.
Jason and I did the Cinch 5 Day Fast Forward again this week. I am down 10 pounds this morning from what I was last Monday morning! I am SUPER excited and I am also determined to keep it off this time and lose more. I am slowing inching my way toward my Disney World goal:) We are going to Disney in August of this year, so I know I need to be in pretty good shape so I don't die of heat exhaustion....and so I can wear some cute shorts too:)
F.
I have a few giveaway posts I hope to get ready for y'all this week and I have a few guest post to work on too so there may not be a whole lot of crafting going on this week {other than all the teacher appreciation stuff I'm working on}.  I do have a fun Cinco de Mayo snack to share with you and hopefully I can get it up before the actual holiday so if you want to give it a try you can!

Miscellany Monday

A. I had a TON of laundry to do on Friday...and Eli helped me out a little:) The boys were out of school on Monday and Tuesday last week for Mardi Gras and for some reason that totally through off my {sad excuses for a} cleaning routine. I like to try and finish up most of the laundry on Monday so I don't feel like I am folding clothes every day of the week. That didn't happen last week, so I had a ton of stuff piled up on Friday. Ugh! I hate laundry, but it was a little easier with my helper moving clothes from the dryer to the living room for me to fold!

B. I sort of got my craft room in a little better order this weekend. I'm hoping to finish cleaning it up so I can make Eli a St. Patty's Day tie kind of like this one that Mandy from Sugar Bee Crafts made! Isn't it the cutest thing ever!

C. I picked up a new door mat at Lowes yesterday while we were there shopping for some other stuff. It was kind of an impulse buy, but it was on sale so that makes it okay! I love that it is plain but still interesting because of the pattern....though I'm thinking about stencilling a big W on it just to make it a little more fun. Now I just have to figure out how to make a stencil big enough because I know my Cricut won't cut a letter as big as I want for this.
D. Today is Pi day. 3/14. That is kind of fun:) I have seen a few different pies {and some cookies} made to celebrate today. I'm thinking I may throw together an apple pie out of all the apples that are sitting in my fruit bowl getting old!

Miscellany Monday

I'm thinking about starting a new thing on Fridays....I'm still not sure what I want to call it, but I would really love to feature some of my favorite bloggers! I am always SUPER excited when another blogger features me, so I thought it would be nice to return the favor:) I was thinking maybe Featured Friend Friday?!? What do you think about the name, and would you like to be featured here? I would love to feature your blog...big or small, beginner or old pro!! Leave a comment on this post with a link to your blog and/or send me an email and maybe I can get started on this soon!
*****
I somehow managed to use up all of my photo storage space through blogger! That means no more pictures until I pay for extra storage or go delete old pictures from my picassa account. I don't think $5 per year for a ton more storage is too unreasonable though. Hopefully I can share pictures of my fun {Cherry Red} table makeover with you soon:)
*****
Jason and I are doing the Cinch 5 Day Fast Forward cleanse again this week. I am hoping this time I can manage to stick with the plan after the first five days are over, and maybe I can read the Cinch book that I bought a month ago and then never read.
*****
Just in case you missed my post from Friday, click HERE to read a funny conversation I heard from my backseat:)

Henry and Grant are starting tennis lessons today. We originally planned to let them play baseball this spring, but the closer ball season got the more I dreaded all those late nights at the ball fields. So we decided that tennis would be a fun spring sport instead....and the best part is that practices are right after school so no late nights at the ball fields for us:)
*****
My friend Amanda is having a SUPER fun Crafty Cutter Party today! If you've made any crafts using your Cricut or Silhoutte go link up. If you don't have a craft cutter you can still hop over and check out all the really great ideas!

Miscellany Monday

ONE:
We love Krispy Kreme...
not only because their hot donuts are addictive and their sprinkle donuts are fun, but also because they are SUPER generous! Did you know that Krispy Kreme gives kids free donuts for making good grades! How cool is that:) For every A on your child's report card, Krispy Kreme lets them pick out any donut of their choice. We came home with 6 free donuts...and sadly this yummy sprinkle donut is the only one left. I think Henry is saving it for an after school snack:)
We also LOVE Krispy Kreme because of their fun hats that seem to endlessly entertain two year olds. Eli has been wearing his hat nonstop since we got it yesterday after lunch...except when he was sleeping and it was sitting on the table right next to his bed:)
TWO:
Jason spent last weekend and part of this weekend working on a few projects around the house. If I can manage to get a decent picture of the tiny space that is our foyer, I will share the new moldings and 'board and batten' type woodwork that he added. And I also need some advice on the piece of furniture the currently resides in my foyer, so get ready to share your ideas for adding a little pizazz to an old wooden entry table:)
THREE:
Henry and Grant are both escorting girls in our elementary school's pageant in a few weeks. They weren't too keen on the idea at first, but then the promise of a few gifts made them change their minds:) I'm just hoping they don't get stage fright once the lights are shining on them!
FOUR:
It's Monday morning again...which means my house is a wreck! I'm not sure how it always gets this bad over the weekend...there is stuff piled up all over the kitchen, the playroom is a total wreck, the boys need clean uniforms for school tomorrow, and I'm pretty sure there is a layer of dust {some from the construction Jason has been doing} two inches thick in living room! I think I need a Monday morning maid:)

Miscellany Monday

I.
Monday blogging has become particularly difficult for me lately. I think mostly because I haven't been crafting or taking pictures as much as usual, which means I don't have any posts pre-scheduled. So on Monday mornings I feel a little pressure to be creative {or talkative} and post something while still trying to do the regular Monday morning mom routine!
II.
Jason and I are attempting a new diet/cleanse/torture treatment this week. I actually saw this on the Rachael Ray show and then I saw a book review on a blog. It sounds pretty easy....except not really! You eat the same five foods for five days and they 'guarantee' you will lose 8 pounds.
The 5 foods are:
Eggs
Spinach
Yogurt
Almonds
Raspberries
I figure I can torture myself for five days and hopefully see some results...though I have a feeling I am going to be starving by Saturday and I'm going to be sick of eating eggs:)
III.
I picked up a few crafting supplies this weekend! I love having an excuse to make something fun and girly...and Valentine's Day is a great excuse for something pink! Because you know a mom of three boys NEEDS an excuse to make something girly every once in a while:)
*Bonus points to the first person who guesses what craft I'm working on and what materials are in this picture*
IV.
My SUPER awesome hubby spent part of yesterday working on some new shelves for our laundry room. We already had the bottom layer of cubbies, but we had too much stuff and not enough space....so he made a second shelf to add to the top. Now I just need to work on getting it organized and possible cute:) I love all the fun and decorated laundry rooms out there....and mine is SUPER boring! I'm hoping these new shelves inspire me to dress up my laundry room a little.

Miscellany Monday

A. We had an outrageously busy weekend {Halloween party Friday night, Fall Festival at church Saturday night, and Trick or Treating Sunday night} as I'm sure most everyone else did! I am just a little exhausted from all the fun Halloween/fall activities, and I'm kind of thankful that we don't have a whole lot going on until closer to Thanksgiving.

B. Because we have been so busy, the housework had to be put on hold for a few days:) That means I have a ton of laundry piled up waiting to be folded, and a ton of other laundry that needs to be washed. Sometimes I think I would love to have a maid...but just having someone else to do the laundry would probably be enough to make me happy!

C. In all the candy and craziness that was Halloween night, I accidentally left my camera at my aunt's house. That means no cute pictures of three little knights trick or treating. I did manage to get a half way decent shot of them at the Fall Festival Saturday night though:

D. Is it just me, or is it kind of crazy that the stores already have out all of their Christmas stuff! I like Christmas, but can we at least wait until after Thanksgiving before we start plastering Santa and snowmen all over everything!

E. I don't know if I have mentioned this on my blog before or not, but we are really big Mississippi State fans at our house {that is where my hubby went to college}. Right now the Bulldogs are ranked in the top 25 and they are probably going to make it to a bowl game this year {it's been a few years since that had a good  season}.  We are so excited they are doing well this year, and we are hoping to find tickets to one of the few home games that are left. Henry and Grant have been begging to go to a game, so maybe we can work it out over the next few weeks:)

Miscellany Monday

It doesn't feel like a Monday...or at least it doesn't feel like Monday should be here already. Eli had gymnastics on Mondays now, and that is completely throwing off my 'try to get all the chores done on Monday so I'm not constantly cleaning the house' plan! Oh well, I guess I will just have to clean the house on Tuesday instead:)

My kitchen will have to be first on the list for sure. Yesterday Jason said that we were on our way to being featured on the show Hoarders! It's not that bad, but there sure is a ton of stuff piled up on my kitchen counters right now.

I attempted to take a few pictures of Eli last week.

The overalls he has on were mine when I was little. My mom took pictures with me and my two sisters wearing them when we were around 18 months to 2 years old. Henry and Grant also had their picture taken wearing the same overalls. We've tried to take pictures twice in the overalls, but both times were major fails...and now Eli is almost too big to even get them on his behind! I got a few okay shots, but none of them were wonderful. I guess we will try again {soon}!

My uncle passed away Saturday after a long battle with cancer. I spent the majority of the weekend with family, either at the hospital or at my aunt's house. The services are tonight and tomorrow morning, and I'm sure we will be doing family stuff for most of the week. We haven't really talked to Henry and Grant about it yet. I figured when they started to ask more questions we would talk to them. Death is just such a hard thing to explain to a child....I mean I barely understand it sometimes!

I found a little time to craft last week while Jason was out of town for work and the boys were all asleep. For some reason, I do not sleep well when my hubby is away...so instead of sleeping, I worked on some crafts! I had a craft fail sitting on my dining room table, and I made another attempt at it. It turned out pretty good. After I get it in the mail to my friend {it is a wedding gift}, I will share my step by step do's and do not's!

Miscellany Monday Morning Blues

I made a huge mess on the floor in my kitchen while trying to make myself a snack last week. I ended up throwing away all of the spilled food because Jason had just sprayed for ants {who by the way are completely evil and will take over your house if you leave it unattended for a week}!

Can you tell what I spilled?!?

I'm taking Eli back to the ENT today for a check-up on his ears. I'm hoping everything is okay...he has taken more than a few accidental underwater dips in the pool this summer even though his ears aren't supposed to get wet. Henry is tagging along too for a consult on his tonsils/adenoids. That child snores like a bear...and I didn't realize how bad it was until we all slept in the same hotel room in Atlanta.

I tried on and order my bridesmaids dress for my friend's wedding in September. All I could think about the whole time was the movie 27 Dresses and how ugly and outrageous all the bridesmaid dresses were. Thankfully, the dress my friend picked out is pretty cute:)

Someone tweeted last week that their kiddos started school in 3 1/2 weeks. I thought they were crazy...then I looked at the calendar! We start back in 3 weeks and 4 days from today. It seems like the summer has just flown by...and we still have vacation coming up before school starts back!

Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. I am so confused {and a little mad} about the LOST finale. There are so many unanswered questions. I know the creators said they answered the most important questions about the characters...blah, blah, blah, BUT I want some of the other mysterious stuff explained! I feel like there was a little bit of resolution, but still a million open ended things too! If any body has any theories they want to share, please do.

2. Summer is almost here. Henry only has a half day of school tomorrow, and then it will officially be summer for us. I'm not quite sure how we are going to spend the next 10 weeks....doing lots of fun stuff I hope!

3. I'm heading to the doctor today for a checkup. It has been over a year....and I am almost feeling completely back to normal. You know, except for the six pills I have to pop every morning, and the two shots I take every Thursday. But I think my body {and my rheumatoid arthritis} is doing what it needs to do to feel normal and function.

4. Last week, Grant, Eli, and I took a little road trip...and I got to meet my SUPER sweet bloggy friend Kelli! Here are a few pics of our trip:
