Monogrammed Burlap Garden Flag

I wrote this tutorial for a guest post on Tatertots & Jello, but I wanted to share it here too:)
Jen is SUPER crafty and very inspirational and she makes the most amazing things our of burlap! Becuase of that, I knew that I had to attempt something made out of burlap. I also wanted something for my yard, because the grass here is finally starting to turn green! So I came up with a Monogrammed Burlap Garden Flag that is SUPER easy and SUPER inexpensive to make.Monogrammed Burlap Garden Flag Tutorial

Hi! I love this flag so much I am making them! I have been working on them for a while (I did a hand stitched applique) and I am finally ready to assemble it onto the burlap. I am having a lot of trouble with the burlap though! It is unraveling and since it is not very sturdy I was trying to make it double over (kind of looks like a pillowcase) . . . .I'm now wondering if one piece will be sturdy enough though because the "pillowcase" looks uneven and not very pretty. . . any help and/or tips is greatly appreciated! :-D Thanks!
