Things I Learned on Vacation

1. Driving down a snowy mountain road is beautiful and a little scary.
2. Snow tubing is a TON of fun.3. Grant is a typical goofy middle child:) 4. Eli is an adorable snow bunny...red cheeks and all!5. My boys are growing up and doing a lot more without help from Mom or Dad.6. Well, some of them:) 7. Someone always has to go to the bathroom and/or get their diaper changed.
8. Playing in the snow makes you very, very, very tired!9. Pushing a stroller in the snow is actually not as hard as you would think!
10. Riding up is much easier than skiing up or walking up. 11. Eli is an adorable snow bunny!
12. Always take a change of clothes for your kiddos. Ski pants are made to go OVER regular pants...they are not a very good substitute for regular pants.
13. Snowflakes and camera lens don't always get along!
14. Eli is the easiest child to take a picture with because it is hard for him to run away while you are holding him! 15. We are going to have some very interesting video footage. {That is Jason on the left videoing Henry and Grant coming down the hill.}16. I take way too many pictures.
17. Henry got pretty good in just three hours of skiing.18.Grant will sometimes be sweet and pose for pictures.
19. It is nearly impossible to get everyone to look at the camera!20. Nine hours in the car with three little kids is about eight hours too long. Thank goodness for DVDs!
21. I LOVE vacation!

Sneak Peek

We are on vacation this week. So far we have explored Asheville and played in what little bit of snow is still on the ground here.
The view of the North Carolina mountains from our hotel. Playing in the snow near the {closed} Blue Ridge Parkway. Eli sampling the yummy snow:)
All suited up and trying to stay warm!
Tomorrow we are heading to a ski resort to try some tubing and skiing!

SNOW DAY!

UPDATE: IT IS SNOWING:)
School is cancelled today.

Our first {that I can remember} ever SNOW DAY!

Yesterday the weather was promising us 2-4 inches of snow....it was supposed to snow here from about 8 am until noon.

That is a big deal, when we haven't seen snow here in at least 12 years.

But guess what we woke up to?!?
YEP!
Lots of cold and rain, but NO snow!
The forecast has officially changed to just rain, with the chance of {one} flurry around noon today!

The boys are a little disappointed.

Grant said, "I thought we were going to wake up when it was snowing?"

The worst part of it, is that there is snow about an hour north of us....but for some reason it just won't come down far enough south to blanket us with a little bit of the fun white stuff!

So I guess we will be spending our SNOW DAY {with no snow} watching cartoons and packing for our vacation.

At least I know for sure that we will see snow in North Carolina....even if it is made by a machine at the ski resort:)

Henry's Lunch

This was one of Henry's homework assignments last week. He had to write the sentence and illustrate it. He was very specific about what he had eaten for lunch that day. He even included his sandwich holder and the ziplock bag his carrots were in! I added the labels, just in case you aren't quite sure what everything is!

Henry's Drawing:

Henry's actually lunch: What do your kiddos normally eat for lunch?!?

Sweet Treats!

I found the cutest heart shaped cupcakes a few weeks ago while I was browsing around the internet looking for Valentine's Day ideas! They were cute, and they didn't require me to buy a special pan either....all I needed was some marbles.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
To make SUPER cute heart shaped cupcakes:
Line your muffin tins with paper cupcake holders.
Mix up your favorite cake batter.
Pour the batter into the liner making sure to only fill them up halfway. Then slide a marble between the liner and the muffin tin on one side. I found that it is best to only push the marble down a little bit, not all the way to the bottom of the cup.
Bake the cupcakes as directed.
Let them cool a little bit, then remove them from the muffin pan and cool completely.
Decorate the SUPER cute heart shaped cupcakes with lots of pink, red, and white sprinkles!
Then take lots of pictures because you are so proud of how cute they turned out!
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
I also made yummy Rice Krispy Treats using strawberry flavored {and heart shaped} marshmallows. Then I cut them out with my big heart shaped cookie cutter. They turned out so cute and even had a little bit of pink tint!
These would be even better with a little bit of chocolate drizzled on top...but I was trying not to eat ever single sweet treat that I made!

What kind of yummy treats are making for Valentine's Day?

Not Me! Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.
********************************

I did NOT completely abandon my diet last week. I did NOT get so caught up in baking various cookies and other Valentine's treats that I ended up gaining back almost 3 of the 10 pounds that I lost in January. I have much better will power than that, and I would NEVER blow a month of hard work on a few cookies, cupcakes, and Rice Krispy treats!

I did NOT get just a little sad when the Stained Glass cookies that I worked so hard on didn't turn out the way I had been picturing in my head. I would NEVER get upset over something as silly as cookies...even if they were supposed to be really cute teacher's gifts!

I did NOT get over my sadness quickly, because my other cookies turned out SUPER cute!

I do NOT think that I need to quit baking and start crafting....I don't think I can gain any weight from working with scrapbook paper and my new Cricut:)

I am NOT so glad that at least a few of you {well actually 8} got my {probably not as funny as I thought it was} title of THIS blog post! I did NOT decided that because you all are such great blog followers, that I would use random.org to pick one of the lucky 8 who actually understand my sense of humor! Myya was NOT the winner....so Myya...don't send me your address {but really do, so I can send you a little happy in the mail}!
