Rainbow Pudding Pops!

It is day four of our 6 Days of Summer Fun and I thought it was time for a yummy snack:)

6DaysofSummerFunwiththeSUPERMOMS

Today, I am sharing how to make

RAINBOW PUDDING POPS!

Just as yummy as regular pudding pops, but so much more fun:)

Rainbow Pudding PopsGather your ingredients, supplies, and helpers.

You will need a box {or two} of instant vanilla pudding, milk, food coloring, a couple of mixing bowls, a whisk, plastic or paper cups, and popsicle sticks. Have one of your helpers pour the pudding mix into your biggest mixing bowl.
Have another helper pour in the milk. Make sure to follow the directions on your package of pudding.
Once the pudding is mixed according to the directions, evenly separate it into 5 or 6 smaller bowls.
Add in red, orange, yellow, green, blue {and you can do purple...my boys didn't want it} food coloring to your divided up pudding. Then get a little help stirring until the pudding is the color that you want.
Spoon the different colors of pudding into your cups. Try to do smooth and even layers so that you will see a good rainbow on the sides of the pudding pop. Have one of your helpers put a popsicle stick into each of the cups of pudding. The pudding should be thick enough to hold up the stick...if not, cover the cup with plastic wrap and then put the stick through the plastic wrap and into the pudding.
Place the pudding pops in the freezer for a few hours. The time will depend on the size of your cups.
After they are completely set, take the pudding pops out of the freezer. Use your hands to warm up the sides of the cup so that the pudding pop will come out of the cup easily.
Then enjoy {& try not to make too big of a mess with} your SUPER cute and SUPER yummy treat!

Making Pudding Pops

Gather ingredients and supplies.
bowl, whisk, milk, pudding mix, popsicle molds, two very eager helpers
Add milk to the bowl.
Add pudding mix to the bowl.
Let eager helper #1 whisk the pudding very carefully.
Cautiously let eager helper #2{against your better judgement, because he is notoriously messy!} mix the pudding too.
Fill SUPER cool popsicle molds with pudding.
Sneak a lick while mom isn't looking.
Fill more popsicle molds with extra pudding {we used a big box}! Let eager helper #1 add the handle in his signature color.
Then let eager helper #2 add his handle...also in his signature color!

Place in the freezer and...

WAIT
FOUR
HOURS!

ENJOY!

{And share with your little brother!}

MIA, VBS, and a Feature

It is Vacation Bible School week for us, which means I am running around like crazy from the time I get up until noon every day! Being busy with VBS means my blog will be kind of quiet for the most part this week, and I will probably be MIA from your blogs this week too. Hopefully when VBS is over I will be able to catch up on all my favorites:)

Since I'm not sharing any of my own fun today, I figured I would send you over to check out someone else's great ideas! Mickey aka Monster Mama made some SUPER fun pudding pops the other day! Go check out her version inspired by rainbow pops , and while you are there look around at all the other great recipes she has shared. Her PB Brownies look amazing...and I know that if I made them they would completely ruin my diet:)

Rainbow Waffles

Everything is more fun when it is in a rainbow of colors, especially food and especially food made for St. Patrick's Day! I wanted to try something a little different this year....I've already made rainbow cupcakes and rainbow pudding pops, so I though waffles would be a nice change of pace:)
I started with a box mix prepared according to the waffle directions, but you can use your favorite waffle recipe. I divided the batter and then colored it with red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple Wilton gel food coloring.
**FYI don't evenly divide the batter...you need way more red and orange than you do blue and purple so divide and color your batter accordingly or you may end up eating a blue and purple waffle while your kiddos enjoy their rainbow ones!
Quickly and carefully add the colored batter to your warmed {ROUND} waffle iron. I found it was easiest to start in the center with a small circle of the purple and work my way to the outside with the colors making rings around the center. The batter will spread a little, just make sure to work quickly and get the circle sort of right! I think this would be easiest using squeeze bottles or maybe even putting the batter in ziploc bags, but I was in a hurry and spooning the batter onto the waffle iron worked just fine too!
Close the lid of your waffle iron and let them cook.
When you take your waffle out of the waffle iron it will look kind of like a tie dyed mess. The beauty of using a circle waffle iron to make these is that all you have to do to turn this mess into a rainbow is cut the waffle in half!
Add a few whipped cream clouds and get ready for the kiddos to squeal with excitement...at least that's what mine did anyway:)
I know what we will be having for breakfast on March 17th!
